Starting any new exercise can be intimidating. We suggest that you begin with Private Sessions. Privates ensure that you get one-on-one attention based on your personal needs and learning style. In Private Sessions we can specifically tailor the lesson around your current level of fitness, age, and fitness goals. Another option is to start Pilates with beginning mat classes or chair classes. Our small class size help you to fully experience Pilates without a big financial investment.
How can I schedule?
You can either call or email to schedule.
We schedule lessons Monday-Sunday.
Please be aware that you will be charged for your lesson if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice.
What should I expect for the first appointment?
Arrive 10 minutes early to fill out a registration form. Avoid eating a big meal before your session. If you are coming for a Private Session expect individual attention. The teacher will take into account any history of injuries in developing a lesson for you.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes without buckles or straps that may be irritating. It’s a good idea to wear clothes that are form-fitting so your teacher can see your body and give you pointers as necessary. A lot of the exercises are done lying on your back with your legs above you, so wear pants or shorts that will stay in place. Pilates is done barefoot or with socks, so don’t worry about shoes.
How often should I come?
Pilates is best done at least once a week. If you can make Pilates part of your regular routine you will begin to see and feel changes. Our clients choose many different combinations.
Here are some combinations that have worked for other clients:
- One Private and one mat class a week
- One mat class a week
- Two equipment classes a week
- Three Privates and one duet
Do I need to bring equipment?
No, just bring yourself and a water bottle. We provide all the equipment you’ll need.
